About

Welcome to the blog of Ryan Leach, a composer of original music for animation. The site is currently under serious development and will be several months before it is fully operational. In the meantime please visit ryanleach.com for news about Ryan’s past and upcoming projects and to listen to his music.

Ryan Leach brings more than skill and passion to his work in a competitive realm of film scoring. His masterful blending of styles and genres makes him an inventive voice in a new generation of composers. Born in the Cajun South and raised in Australia, before relocating to just outside Philadelphia, his writing reflects a diverse musical background and product of his various locales.

Ryan’s music has been played on ABC, CBS, NBC, MTV, and the Science Channel. His credits include writing additional music for the Jerry Bruckheimer prime-time hit shows “Cold Case” and “Close to Home”, technical score assistance on such films as “Bee Movie” (score by Rupert Gregson-Williams), “The Simpsons Movie”, and “The Dark Knight” (scores by Hans Zimmer), and original music and arrangements for the Disney Princess homepage.

Before graduating from Berklee College of Music with a BM in Film Scoring, Ryan Leach worked as music editor with composer Michael Teoli on the award winning “After Roberto”, his first feature film which has received worldwide recognition. Following the success of “After Roberto”, Ryan scored “Interrogation”, his first feature length film as composer. In December of 2005 Ryan had the opportunity to score “Ara’s Flight”, a beautiful computer-animated short film about a young boy orphaned by the Armenian genocide. The film premiered to great acclaim at the Armenian Film Festival and the ASIFA Animation Festivals on the same weekend in February of 2006. All the while Ryan was packing his bags for the west coast.

Shortly after moving to Los Angeles in early 2006, Ryan began working for composer Michael A. Levine as assistant, music editor, and additional composer. In the Spring of 2007 Ryan moved with Michael A. Levine to Remote Control Productions, Hans Zimmer’s facility in Santa Monica. Being a part of Remote Control gave Ryan the opportunity to work with and learn from the top composers in the industry.

Ryan Leach currently resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to compose original music that adds depth and dimension to film and television.
